The conference was successful with participations from industry, high schools, colleges, non-profit organization, and universities. There were 75 registered participants to the conference. Advanced technical topics, machining trends, tips, and informative information on available educational tools / software were presented in 12 sessions. Impressive and professional machining demonstrations were appreciated by all audiences. Opportunities for students to transfer to higher institutions and scholarship information were shared among participants. The Society of Manufacturing Engineering Education Foundation and Gene Haas Foundation jointly announce that one million dollars is available this year to support students who want to make machining as their future career.
The Texas style BBQ and delicious snacks were generously provided by Lincoln College of Technology. A tour of impressive Lincoln facility was provided to all participants at their second campus on Alouette Drive. Each participant also received a beautiful conference gift and had a chance to win door prizes donated from participating industries. Our Fifth Annual Texas Educators’ Machining Conference will be hosted by the South Texas College in McAllen.
